History

Heart of Hope was born after Pete Gray came back from an eleven week trip to Kenya deeply moved by the poverty he saw in the country back in 2005. Despite being held hostage in Nairobi on the second to last day of his first trip Pete returned in August of the same year and came back even more concerned for the people and organizations he met. From there he attended numerous functions speaking publically about his experiences and the need for action. After getting lots of public support he returned to Kenya for a two week trip in April 2006 with four university students and again in 2007 with another four students.

Since his first trip until present Pete has appeared in local schools/college and churches as well as speaking on the radio and has appeared on numerous occasions in Cornwall’s local papers.
