Case Study No. 1

In 2007 188 mattresses were bought in order to replace the older mattresses at both the children's projects. Many of the mattresses were in poor condition, many were stained with urine as children wet the bed due to having nightmares about their past. Each child at both projects received a new mattress plus bed sheets and a blanket. The joy on the faces of the children's faces is hard to describe but I know for sure that it made a big difference. This is one of Heart of Hope's greatest achievements to date.
Case Study No. 2

In the third trip to Kenya the team took over a large amount of toys, games and stationery for the children at the two projects. Prior to their arrival the children at the long term project shared one toy. It's difficult to describe what it did! It was a plastic pole with a wheel on the bottom, you simply pushed it around!! When the team gave out the toys, games and stationery the happiness on the children's faces was obvious. Every child received a toy some stationery and they all shared the toys. There were Barbie dolls, footballs, a football strip, chess sets, hundreds of coloring pencils and more.
Then in 2007 when another team returned the same happened again. They had managed to take over more toys and games and the joy on the children's faces was priceless.

As well as Supporting an Organisation in Kenya the team went in Kibera Slums, Nairobi, the biggest slum in Africa! Pete has some friends there and knows of a school who his friend is involved with. With left over school books and stationery the team were able to donate items to every child in the school. Prior to the trip Pete had learnt that the school was low on resources so it was great to be able to help.
